HELPING TO EMPOWER MARGINALISED VOICES

Joy Productions London sprang from the imaginative mind of Selina Armoudon—a day dreamer turned creative entrepreneur as an adult, who acts, produces, writes, and directs.

She's a believer in the magic of storytelling to spark change and promote healing by expanding perspectives through looking at history. A alumni of the West London Playwright Group at Bush Theatre, her creations often shine a light on the experiences of women and racial issues. Determined to embody the change she envisions, she recognises the beauty and complexities of narratives in marginalized communities, striving to bring them into the limelight. Her focus extends to a diverse array, including the 50+ crowd, LGBTQIA+ folks, individuals with disabilities, Indigenous groups, spiritual circles, and those with neurodiversity.

5 Shades of Black

This was an ensemble of short plays that showcased historical people from the Black and Asian community in October 2023 shown at The Pleasance London. This included Mary Prince, a former slave and abolitionist, Princess Sophia Duleep Singh, a British Asian suffragette who was Queen Victoria’s goddaughter, as well as Angela Davis, an activist, Donald Rodney, one of the founders of the Black Art Movement and Tupac Shakur, rapper and poet.
